Message from the Superintendent about Yondr Initiative

Dear KCSD Families,

As we continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of our students, I am writing to inform you about an important change regarding cell phone usage within our school premises. Effective Summer 2024, we will be partnering with Yondr to support a cell phone-free environment during school hours at our middle and high schools. This initiative aligns with our commitment to fostering an academically focused and distraction-free learning experience for our students.

The Yondr program utilizes a simple, lockable pouch to store students' cell phones during the school day. To learn more about this new policy, please visit our comprehensive FAQ section on our website at .

We understand that you may have questions about this initiative, so we invite you to join us for one of two virtual family information nights:

- Wednesday, June 12, 7-8 PM

- Monday, June 17, 5-6 PM

Links to these virtual sessions will be posted on our website.

We believe this change will positively impact our students' learning and overall school experience. Thank you for your support as we work together to create an environment conducive to academic success and personal growth.

If you have any immediate concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to the school administration.

Sincerely,

Dr. Paul J. Padalino

Superintendent of Schools
