  • JWB Musicians Perform with All County Band

The accolades and honors for JWB Musicians keep rolling in! On the weekend of March 8th, 7th and 8th Grade JWB musicians performed in the Junior High All County Band Festival at New Paltz High School.

Daphne Connole, Lizzy DeKoskie, Jacob Heinlein, Sara Milgrim, Sophia Doviken, Maren Graziano, and Reece Boyer were selected from a pool of students from the entire Ulster County region after an audition process that began in January. Since then, they have practiced their pieces in anticipation of the concert on Saturday, March 9th. Congrats to all the students and our amazing JWB Music department!

  • JWB Students Perform with Honors Band

JWB is incredibly proud of our student musicians and their impressive milestones. Members of the JWB 5th and 6th grade band were selected to perform at the All County concert with the Honors Band.

Additionally, JWB 8th Grader, Sara Milgrim, was selected to perform with the New York State Band Directors Association Honors band in Syracuse, NY. Sara was one of about 100 students selected from across the state and was placed highest in the trumpet section for NY!

Congrats to our amazing student musicians and our phenomenal JWB Music Department!

  • JWB Hosts Battle of the Books!

Students at JWB have spent weeks rigorously reading and discussing books in preparation for the annual Battle of the Books competition. Teams for each grade level worked with teachers as they prepared to square off in competition to see which team is able to accurately answer the most questions about their respective books. During the competition, parents and guardians were invited in to watch and celebrate the participants. The culminating activity will be a Book Battle between the winning team for JWB and the winning team from MCM. Thank you to JWB Library Media Specialist, Mrs Polack and the teacher captains for providing this awesome learning activity to our students! bob1
